• Izzi uses the same luxury Lucite acrylic as Kholer tubs, American Standard tubs and Jacuzzi tubs to manufacture our Acrylic colored bathtubs and shower pans. All Izzi products are warranted again discoloration for 10 years.  

• Colored bathtubs and colored whirlpool tubs can add a stunning focal point to the modern bathroom. Most people still prefer white or an off white bone or biscuit as opposed to the more adventurous colored tubs. Acrylic is preferred for bathtubs when matching to existing bold colored plumbing fixtures due to it's resemblance to porcelain and china that is used for making brightly colored toilets and colored sinks. It also will not fade over time like cultured marble does. The only down side to darker acrylic bathtub colors like black is that they are prone to showing small scratches if proper care is not taken during  construction. Scratches are not a problem during normal use and are more commonly occur when the bathtub is used to store construction debris.

• When installing a black or dark bold colored bathtub, make sure your bathtub is protected with a cover that keeps abrasive dust and drywall off of the finish. Unfortunately, once the tub is contaminated, the necessary cleaning that is required  will scratch the finish and you will have to have the bathtub professionally polished.

• Protecting the acrylic finish during construction. The best way to protect the bathtub finish during construction is to build a protective cover out of plywood and carpet. A little prevention will save you a lot of refinishing expense. Also, do not allow the trades to walk in the bathtub with shoes on. This is actually a very common and destructive practice.
